The World's Best Olive Oils in 2015
On April 15, 2015 the results of the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil competition were revealed in New York, where nearly 700 olive oil from 25 countries were evaluated by an international jury of experts.
Partana Brand was awarded the GOLD AWARD and named World's Best Olive Oil.
Partanna extra virgin olive oil has been produced since 1916 by the Asaro family entirely by Nocellara del Belice olives from their estate in the Valle del Belice in western Sicily. The aroma of this oil is intense, the taste is smooth and very aromatic, with notes of fresh artichokes, tomato and ripe fruit. In the end it is wonderfully sweet and fresh. The Asaro family started harvesting and crushing olives in 1916, in Partanna and Castelvetrano, Sicily in the province of Trapani, famous for the bright green olives bearing that city's name. This beautiful area, formed by the Belice River – the Valle del Belice - produces delicious, fruity extra virgin oil and their famous table olives. Today the fourth generation of the Asaro family is continuing the commitment to bring its customers the highest quality natural and organic Sicilian olive oil and specialty foods. Antonino Asaro leads his sons and daughters in the conduction of the farm. Their products are based solely on the Monocultivar olive Nocellara del Belice better known as Castelvetrano Olives. Of the various olive oils they produce, the top of the line is Partanna and Paesano Organic. The family also cures Castelvetrano olives harvested in their own farm.
